A True Love Letter

Well folks… it’s that romantic time of year where people purchase beautiful flowers, delicious sweets, jewellery, and plan a memorable night out.
It’s that time of year where you are encouraged to show appreciation for the ones you hold dear.
It’s that time of year to declare you’re in love and well I’ll be the first one here to say “damn it, I am in love!”…. Because the truth is; I have been in love for quite a while but also I’ve been in love for short periods of time too. No this doesn’t equate to any relationship drama (I see you drama queens), I’ve decided to declare my love for automation in life and tell you why it’s so great *clears throat* and of course declare my love for Steve!
So, if I’ve piqued your interest in my newest love you may be wondering, automation in life… what do you mean by that?
I’ll keep this brief and simple; have you ever came home after a long day of work, walked in the door and a breeze has kicked up behind you blowing a tumble weed or two down the front hall? You see it and internally sigh and say “If only my floors always looked clean and if only I didn’t have to vacuum them myself”. Well I’m here to tell you that I, Markie Tuckett, have found a second soul-mate and that is my robot vacuum.

I will admit for a short period of time I had myself convinced that this may be a “lazy” way of life (don’t judge me… I didn’t know the ways of a little robot helper) but I can assure you I don’t feel that way any more. It was before the Christmas holidays and I was getting overwhelmed with looming work deadlines, preparing for the holidays, and just being “mentally good”. I am an anxious person by nature and cannot relax if my house isn’t clean. It means that in my downtime when I should be relaxing, I’m cleaning. I was thinking maybe I should just get over things not always being ideally clean and just ignore the mess but alas, I couldn’t.

I was reading an article about human automation and how it vastly improves peoples lives and it really got me internally reflecting; what can I automate in life without having someone “on staff” to pay and then it hit me… I could automate some of my cleaning duties so that when I came home everyday from work, I wouldn’t be immediately getting an eye-twitch from hairy floors.

GENIUS! (Not me, just the idea).

I started researching into alternatives to house cleaning/maintenance and robot vacuums came into my view. I went through page after page, review after review and made a single purchase. Now, I won’t share exactly which robot vacuum I purchased here (unless you really want to know) because I am not posting this blog to make money on affiliate links, I’m posting it to inspire you to simplify your daily/weekly tasks.

Back to my story; so it was with glee, I opened my front door and finally after 3 days, the package had arrived!
I charged the thing up and boom he (meaning Terry Cruze) was in business... for cleaning floors… for the rest of his little robot life.
To say that my life has changed would be a small understatement. If you asked me if I would do something like this again, I would immediately shout YES! I do want to note that I still do my weekend vacuuming to make sure the house is sparkling clean, the robot just keeps things tidy and sanitary until I get around to doing “the big clean”.

Have I got you feeling inspired? Good that’s what this quick read was here for. Did I make you perhaps chuckle slightly? Good this is what my blog is sometimes for… or at least I think I’m funny.
Take this as your sign that you need to automate something in your life.

If this is something you read and thought “hmm, what else can I help automate in this lady’s world?” then send me a DM and I will be very pleased you did!

Anyways, happy love day and be it a day that you don’t just declare love for the living things in your home but maybe a day to celebrate making your life a bit easier to love!

Cheers,

Markie.
