Finding Balance in Two Tone Cabinets
Let’s start with saying we love a single colour cabinetry style. It’s the most popular look because it is simply timeless. That being said, we are absolutely here for a kitchen that incorporates two-tone cabinetry colours. Choosing a mix of colours for your space is bold and stylish. The look itself has been around for a bit but it’s becoming obvious that this is a trend that is going to stay. We may even say, one of the biggest kitchen trends for 2023.
We are seeing more clients selecting cabinets with green and blue tones and mixing them with sandy whites or taupes. These colours are also incredibly easy (probably even easier than you think!) to pair with just about any tone or hardware type. Additionally, we suggest adding in elements of wood for warmth and texture with your space.
Now, we know choosing one cabinetry colour is hard enough, let alone two! So, we are here to help! We have created three unique looks that will help you find the balance and find your perfect look for when you’re deciding. While these are our own opinions and know that there are really no set rules for what colour combinations work, we think these palettes are a great starting point!
Traditional Palette: If you’re going for a more traditional palette, we recommend a combination of a warm white, mixed with a soft muted blue tone. Here, we have chosen Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee (OC-45) paired with Benjamin Moore Coventry Grey (HC-169). Together this palette pairs beautifully, especially with the hints of grey found in the Coventry Grey. It coordinates easily with most traditional palettes and gives your space a fresh and timeless feel.

Transitional Palette: Transitional palettes are some of our favourites to work with. They often incorporate a contemporary pop of colour, that is catching to the eye. For this pairing, we are going with Benjamin Moore Sussex Green (HC-109) and Benjamin Moore Cloud Cover (OC-25). We love this look because of the warm chic green tone of the Sussex Green that plays into the blue/green undertones in Cloud Cover. This will make your room feel bold, playful and truly unforgettable!

Modern Palette: Last but certainly not least is our modern palette! Unlike the last two, this look incorporates more of a warm toned taupe rather than the typical white. To obtain this modern look we chose Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal (HC-166) with Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Grey (HC-173). This palette is all fun and definitely steers away from the norm. The cool tones of the charcoal blue, mixed with the warm tones of the Edgecomb Grey create the perfect modern look!
