And the winners are…

Wow! That is all we can say – wow! We are blown away by this years Stay Golden Grant applicants. We have received nearly thirty applications from all types of business backgrounds across Windsor-Essex County. Almost double what we had received last year! Incredible.

First and foremost, we want to thank all the small businesses who applied or were nominated! From the bottom of our hearts know that we support all of you and are so proud of the entrepreneur spirit we are seeing across the county. It is truly amazing! This decision was not easy, nor something we take lightly. After nearly five hours of reviewing every application, the Timber + Plumb team selected it’s final two winners!

And without further ado…. Meet the 2022 Stay Golden Winners!

First Prize Winner: Jessica Sulpher – Rae With Needles

Jessica blew it out of the water with her application for her business Rae With Needles! A unique specialty of crafting and creating handsewn leather dog collars. Originally what started as a hobby, Jessica has transformed her passion project to an independent business. With this grant Jessica will be able to (finally!) purchase a heavy-duty leather sewing machine. This will better her business by cutting the time to make collars from 4-8 hours to 15-20 minutes! Allowing her to take on a substantial number of new clients.

To Jessica stay golden is much more than just a tagline, it is way to exude positivity and kindness. It is someone who is genuine to themselves, their community and those who surround them!

Second Prize Winner: Kelsey Jewell – Wandering With Dogs

Kelsey’s passion and love for her business was evident from the second we started reading her application. Kelsey started her business Wandering With Dogs not only to be her own boss, but because she saw a need for quality, enriching and force free dog care and walking methods in Windsor. With a focus on providing safe, kind and above and beyond service for her clients and their dogs! This grant will allow Kelsey to better her business by purchasing safe professional grade leashes and harness, and maintaining her work vehicle that allows her to travel from client to client.

For Kelsey, stay golden means to stay hopeful for the future. Always keep your kindness and positivity in life, and continue to serve your community to the best of your ability!

Once again, we thank everyone who applied! We cannot wait to see what the 2023 Stay Golden Grant has in store for us.

Continue to support your local community and small businesses, and remember to always stay golden!

Madeline.
