We are so excited about this week’s blog! Not only are we discussing one of our favourite times of the year in Windsor-Essex (hello, patio season!) but we have a special guest writer who collaborated on this with us.
Hands down, our favourite Windsor Foodie – Christina, owner and operator of the insanely popular blog & Instagram Scenes From Dinner has helped us put together a list of must try patios across Essex County! Christina is a huge believer in following the food, and with the warm weather sneaking up on us, we want to shout out a few of our favourite places to get great food, good drinks and incredible patio vibes! The Grand Cantina
Located in the heart of Ford City, The Grand Cantina offers a delicious menu and some seriously good margaritas! Tucked behind the restaurant front is their vibrant patio that is an absolute must try this summer. It transports you into total tropic vibes. Christina’s menu picks: loaded nachos, vegan tacos and churros. You will not want to leave!
Wineology
Giving big city vibes right in Walkerville, Wineology has completely transformed their rooftop to a unique and modern patio. It is the perfect spot to spend those long summer nights. From the top, the views of one of our favourite neighbourhoods are second to none! Christina’s menu picks: JC’s Pizza, a glass of one of their delicious wines, and the espresso martini. Definitely a must visit!
The Barrel House
The Barrel House is a hidden gem, located in historic Sandwich Town. Their patio is a little oasis in the middle of summer, and is perfect for some casual afternoon drinks! Bonus, they have live music! We are sure that you will love every minute you spend here, and keep coming back for more. Christina’s menu picks: A cold local draft beer, and massive burgers. A classic favourite!
Jack’s Gastropub
Found in the gorgeous small-town of Kingsville, you will want to put Jack’s on your list of must try county restaurants! A favourite among Kingsville locals, you seriously cannot go wrong dining here. The atmosphere on the patio is full of fun and the food is incredible. Take a scenic drive before stopping in, and enjoy a perfect day out. Christina’s menu picks: the Spicy Jack burger, and the delicious Perch dinner.
