DUAL ZONES AND DUAL TONES
Shown below is a gorgeous two-tone kitchen with dual islands. Island #1 is a designated cooking and prepping island that features pantry storage in bases with roll-outs, a large modernized double bowl under-mount sink, a dishwasher and pull-out waste center, and last but not least a microwave sitting within a base cabinet (that is hidden from view as it faces the back wall).
Island #2 is ideal for grabbing a casual meal, sharing a bottle of wine with friends or just hanging out in the main living space. This island also features extra drawer storage for “dining room supplies” as well as extra kitchen storage.
The perimeter of the kitchen doesn’t lack character either, check out our double-stacked upper cabinets that showcase mirror inserts instead of glass - we did this to add the illusion of “transparency” like a piece of glass would but also to bounce light around the space and hide spices and oils.
The backsplash is actually oversized tiles that have been installed with minimal grout lines so it resembles a one piece backsplash but with lots of organic movement.
